| Born on the farm called Bjellånes in the rural municipality of Rana, Ole Tobias is considered one of the most legendary characters of northern Norway. Known for his energy and drive, Ole Tobias Olsen accomplished much in his 94 years. He will most likely be remembered as the man who spent most of his working life building what we today call Nordlandsbanen, the railroad from Trondheim to Bodø. Due to his efforts, he has quite fittingly been called the "Father of Nordlandsbanen". |
